Stephen Murphy

Stephen A. Murphy was raised on the Southwest side of Chicago and attended Lewis University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1974. After graduation Steve went to work in the Adult Probation's Records Department and in 1976 he became an investigator for the County in the Public Defender's Office. He then attended Kent College of Law while working full-time and raising a family. In 1984 he graduated with honors and was admitted to the Illinois Bar in May of 1984. Upon his admission to the Illinois Bar he took a position as an Assistant Public Defender where he practiced until 1992, when he left the Felony Trial Division and entered private practice, eventually concentrating his practice in Civil Law; handling cases in Family Law, Guardianships, Probate, Divorce, Paternity, and Post-Divorce Decree matters.
